Job Description

The role

  • As an After School Club Walking Bus Assistant at Godalming Junior School in Godalming, Surrey (GU7) you will be responsible for collecting children from the two feeder schools and walking them to Godalming Junior School safely and securely. 
  • Looking after children aged 4-11
  • Collect children from feeder schools and ensure they safely arrive at the After School Club.
  • Have a secure understanding of the Walking Bus Risk Assessment.
  • Understand the procedure to follow if a child is not on the register.
  • Have a secure understanding of the Walking Bus Rules and ensure the children follow these rules at all times.
  • Inform the SS of any incidents, including behaviour, that occur during the Walking Bus.
  • Experience of working in a childcare, early years or playwork setting helpful but not essential


  • Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids policies and procedures, including safeguarding and communicate concerns to the Safeguarding Officer.
  • Following discussion with Site Supervisor, be aware of, and maintain sensitivity, for any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, and Dietary).
  • Attend and actively contribute to training sessions and department meetings as and when requested.
  • Undertake any reasonable request from the Management Team to improve service or to maintain a harmonious working environment.
  • Positively promote the KOOSA Kids brand at all times.
  • Provide a safe & secure environment for the children in your care
  • Enable children to explore, grow and have FUN!


  • This role is part-time, term-time only, Monday-Friday 3.15pm to 3.45pm 
  • Salary £8 per shift
