KOOSA Kids Breakfast & After School Clubs Reopening from 8th March. Bookings now OPEN!

Having been in regular and close contact with the Department for Education throughout lockdown, we were very hopeful for positive news on Monday, but we were delighted to hear the Prime Minister himself confirm in person, in his speech in the House of Commons, that breakfast & after school clubs can reopen in-line with schools from the 8th March! 

Following a review of the updated ‘Protective Measures Guidance’, we are pleased to confirm that it looks like that we will be able to operate in a very similar way to how we have been since September 2020. Please note we are still actively working through the guidance so there may be some small changes still to be implemented. Please keep an eye on this page for any further updates. We understand this has been a very challenging time for everyone, juggling work with home learning & the overall pressures of living in a lockdown situation. We are excited to bring back our childcare services in the very near future, to reengage & have fun with your children, and give you a well-deserved break.

Permanent Places Agreements

If you hold a Permanent Places Agreement for regular breakfast and / or after school club sessions, your contracted sessions will be pre-booked for you as usual from 8th March. You will receive an invoice for these sessions later today, including instructions on how to use any credit remaining on your account to pay for these if you have credit available. Ad Hoc Bookings

If you book your breakfast and after school club sessions on an ad hoc basis, you can now book your sessions for the remainder of the March to April half term or call 01276 21884 with any queries.

Customer Service Support

Our telephone lines will reopen from 11:00am today (24th February). You can reach us on 01276 21884. We are expecting a high volume of enquiries, so do please bear with us if it takes a little longer to get through. Alternatively, please email info@koosakids.co.uk and we will contact you.

We aim to open bookings for the Easter Holidays in the next few days.

Below you will find a summary of some of the protective measures that will be in place across all our clubs:

• Children can only access wraparound childcare where it is reasonably necessary to enable their parents and carers to work, search for work, undertake education or training, or attend a medical appointment or address a medical need, or attend a support group
• Children will be grouped into small consistent bubbles and bubbles will not be able to mix throughout the session.
• Greatly enhanced daily cleaning routines have been implemented, including regular cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
• We will be promoting good hygiene practices with children and staff to include more frequent hand washing and adopting the 'catch it, bin it, kill it' approach.
• The activities and resources provided will be adapted for hygiene reasons and ease of cleaning.
• Where the weather allows, staff and children will spend as much time outside as possible.
• Contactless sign in/out will continue (removing the requirement to sign paper registers).
• Staggered drop off and collections will continue (click on the relevant link in the table below to read club specific information).
• Registration locations may differ from those in place previously. Please follow the yellow & black KOOSA Kids arrows to guide you to the correct location to drop off/pick up your child.

Staggered Drop Off & Collection Times

In-line with Government guidelines, staggered drop off & collection times will be in place to reduce crowds, limit contact, allow more time for children to be outside & for KOOSA Kids staff to maintain cleaning schedules. 

We kindly ask you to respect the timings below and not to drop off or collect your children outside of these time frames as Site Supervisors will not be able to accommodate this. 

Breakfast Club Staggered Drop Off Times:

Drop off times for each breakfast club can be found on the individual venue pages. Please use the links in the table below to find details for your breakfast club.

After School Club Staggered Collection Times:

Please only collect your child from the after school club at one of the following times:

• 4:15pm or 4:45pm or 5:15pm or 5:45pm

Collection will be outside, regardless of the weather, and parents will not be able to enter the building. KOOSA Kids staff will offer a contactless sign in, where parents will be asked to review any information and staff will countersign on their behalf. Registration at each specific time will be open for 15 minutes or until everyone in the queue has been signed out.

How will my child be looked after?

Your children will be grouped in ‘bubbles’ according to Department for Education guidelines and as agreed with the school. Please see your club pages for specific information for your breakfast or after school club. Each bubble will be allocated a dedicated space and equipment in their areas.

To avoid disappointment, we would like to remind you that we are unable to guarantee your child will be placed in the same bubble as their friends. Please note, bubbles will not mix throughout the session.
